System Requirements- What is the minimum computer system I need?
A PC and internet connection is all you will basically need. However, you may desire other options like wireless terminals or mobile phones etc. See our other FAQ answers for details'
- What do I need at Point of Sale?
Our system accepts many common client interfaces. You can use any of the following to access our system and conduction loyalty transactions:
- PC Web Browser Client (requires perpetual internet connection). Web browsers supported: IE6 & above, Firefox 1.5 & above, Safari;
- Mobile Transaction Terminal by Way Systems: a transaction terminal the size of a mobile phone, which uses GPRS to communicate with our CTE Loyalty Server;
- Mobile Phone or PDA with a built in Web Browser;
- Online e-commerce shopping cart system with integration to CTE Loyalty's Open HTTPS API;
- Existing retail software system with integration to CTE Loyalty's Open HTTPS API;
- Existing banking terminals with integration to CTE Loyalty's Open HTTPS API;
- What do I need to manage my loyalty program?
PC Web Browser Client (with internet connection). Web browsers supported: IE6 & above, Firefox 1.5 & above, Safari
- Will I have to issue membership cards to my customers?
This will depend on your preference. A membership card can be a good branding tool for your business. However, implementation will involve extra costs and create logistic/inventory management concerns. Alternatively you may choose to use a unique ID for your customers, such as their mobile phone number, IC number etc.
- If I choose to issue a Membership Card, what will I require?
All membership cards should have a unique Card ID. They may also have either magnetic stripe encodings, barcodes or smart chip printed numbers.
Barcode readers, magnetic stripe readers or smartcard readers are preferred if a PC Web Browser based client is used. Mobile transaction terminal or Banking terminals usually only support magnetic stripes or smart chips
- What range of numbers should I use if I am going to print a membership card?
We recommend simple running numbers or 16-digit credit card style numbers with checksum digits. Please talk to your respective CTE Loyalty consultant for more details with regard to this issue.
- Can I buy printed membership cards from CTE Loyalty?
Yes. We can print all type of membership cards with optional magnetic stripe or bar code etc. We also provide Card Design services.
The cost per card will depend on the quantity ordered. Prices may be as low as US$0.50 per card.
- Do I need my own server hardware/software or IT/ Database specialist?
No. This is the beauty of our on-demand service. We provide all the server side hardware/software and have our engineers maintain them 24/7.
The only IT expertise required from you is the ability to access and use the internet.
Cost of CTE Loyalty- How do you charge for the loyalty system?
CTE Loyalty is offered as an on-demand service, so there is no up-front huge software/system cost or on-going software/system upgrade cost etc.
CTE Loyalty charges like your home utilities: you only pay for how much you use at a fixed price per month.
For large enterprises or enterprises that prefer to have such system in-house, there are enterprise versions which you can purchase using a one-time payment. Please contact our sales person for more details
- What is the monthly fee per member?
CTE Loyalty charges US$0.20 per member per month.

- Will there be any other charges involved?
Respective support packages come at a standard price. There is also 1 free email credit per month for every member.
Additional email credit can be bought at S$0.02 per email. For sending SMS to members, the cost per SMS varies depends on the country. Generally, it will cost S$0.10 per SMS credit.
Additional fees will be charged if you require marketing consultancy or design/printing services or on-site support by our engineers,
- Is there a yearly maintenance or software upgrade charge?
There is no annual maintenance charge or software upgrade fee for CTE Loyalty On-Demand service. You will automatically be given an upgrade to the latest version whenever it is released.
All bug fix or software patches are absolutely free too.
- Is there a buy-and-own pricing model for CTE Loyalty?
Yes. You can always purchase our enterprise version, which you can install on your own server and manage it locally.
We suggest you do so if you have in-house IT experts and IT infrastructure like data centres and servers.
Privacy and Other Questions- Where is my member data stored? Will anyone else have access to my data?
All data is hosted at our secure data centre with 24/7 security, multiple internet backbone connections, and backup power generators. It has the same level of security as banking systems.
No one except your designated operator will be able to access your data nor will it be shared with anyone unless you permit explicitly.

All data will belong to their respective account holders.

- What will happen to my data if I no longer decide to use the CTE Loyalty service anymore?
Since you own the data, you will always have the liberty to export the data to store locally. When you terminate our service, you will get an backup copy of member and transactions data in standard format (.CSV) which can be imported to many standard applications
